I still remember it as if it were yesterday. Back in November of 1998 I went to the 328 Performance Hall in Nashville, TN to see (at that time) one of my favorite bands, King's X. I had never seen them live before and was extremely excited about the show. I got to the show about 20 minutes before the show started, only because I had never been to 328 before and I didn't know how the venue was laid out. I wanted to make sure that I would have a decent view of the stage and I also figured that since I was paying to see 2 bands, I should at least check out the opening band, the Galactic Cowboys. My life has never been the same since... Before the show, I did NOT like GC AT ALL! But by the time they were finished, my whole musical horizon had been turned upside down! My musical tastes, writing & playing styles have never been the same. I didn't even stick around for all of the King's X set, they were the sole reason I had came, instead I went to Wal-Mart to find a Galactic Cowboys CD! There were so many memories from that show that I'll never forget. From the way they started out the show with the Machine Fish suite from ATEOTD with each member coming out as his part started in the song, or Monty jumping around like a Mad Man during "If I Were A Killer", or Wally's coat, or hearing "About Mrs. Leslie" for the first time, or Monty blowing a speaker right before they invited people from the crowd to come on stage and help them out on "Pump Up The Space Suit". My only regret is that I didn't know any of the songs. I was really looking forward to seeing you guys again so I could sing along with every song this time.

I introduced the guitarist in my band to your music shortly after getting ATEOTD. We had to change our name a little over a year ago. We decided on the name, 100 Watt Magnet, which is a combination of a box of light bulbs and the song "Mr. Magnet". It is without a doubt one of our favorite songs, along with "Ants" and "Evil Twin".

Thank you guys for writing some of the greatest music that has ever been recorded. You've truly been an inspiration and maybe someday, I'll have an opportunity to meet you guys. I'm EXTREMELY anxious to hear the new CD as well as any future endeavors that you guys choose to do... Again, thank you for everything... you will truly be missed.
