Hi (cowboys),
I hope this is still your email address...I sent you an e-mail after seeing you GC play in Boston, just as "At the end of the day" came out, and you were kind enough to respond.
I just received "Let it go", and thought I'd check your website to see when you would be returning to Boston, and was surprised to find out that the Galactic Cowboys have broken up.
I just wanted to tell you(all) how much I have enjoyed the Galactic Cowboys over the last 9-10 years.
I saw GC for the first time in support of King's X, when they were touring behind their second album (~1989). You guys knocked me out - I was really glad that I got to the club in time to catch your entire set. I had my own band in Boston at the time, kind of similar stylistically to what GC was doing, and seeing you guys was like an affirmation of everything that I wanted to accomplish. I don't have to tell you how discouraging it can be to be in a band - especially if you really believe in what you are doing, and it seems like no one else understands it - well; I felt like you guys were out there doing your thing, so it WAS possible.
I have really enjoyed all of your albums, and have especially enjoyed your live performances. I think that live, you guys really differentiated yourselves - not only by the intensity of the music and your delivery, but by the good humor and positive energy that was always a part of the experience.
All the best to the band in your future endeavors - your music has been a good friend for 10 years, and I am grateful for it.
Regards,
Chris
