Ben, Monty and Wally:
OK so it's turning out to be a bad Saturday...
I hadn't really been keeping up lately with GC, (one of my favorite bands) and today I find out that you guys are soon calling it quits. It was only recently that I found out about the new album--I know, I'm a bit slow (job, family, etc.).
Anyway, I have been listening to you guys since the first album. I have always appreciated your work--your creativity, humor/ irony at times, and your spirituality (Christianity that is active and relevant).
My favorite CD (I started to say "album"), and I think, one of the greatest rock pieces ever done, is "Machine Fish"--if I had to pick one song, it would be "Red Sun"--talk about heavy grooves!!
I was fortunate enough to see you guys once (along with another favorite band, King's X) at the Toy Tiger in Louisville (not my choice of clubs...), but you guys rocked! I remember Ben saying (to a guy in the crowd who had his face painted accordingly)--"and we'd like to welcome King Diamond to the show...".
Anyway, thanks for all the great songs you guys have done! Your work has been an encouragement to me and to several friends. I'm going to go mourn the loss now by drowning myself in some Dairy Queen soft serve...
