Well you could say that I started out as an UNLIKELY fan...
The first time I hard a GC song it was "If I were a killer". My ex-boyfriend was listening to it when I got to his house. At the time I didn't very much care for metal music.
Then after a long while...a hidden track came on... "Ranch on Mars" and that did it. I fell in love with the Group! Not to mention it became mine and my ex-BF "song".
One of the Last GC's concert here in Houston that I went to was at the Abyss... It was shortly after Ben cut his hair. I remember him being at the bar and I not even noticing him for a good while. I bought him some water and he went up on stage. During the show Ben handed me a t-shirt, and although he was not, it felt like he was singing ONLY to me. (Yes Major Groupie). Once the show was over I went over to tell 'em all great show and to ask Alan for his drum sticks, Which I got. I love the drums. I still have those sticks till this day...
Years later I met Wally he was working for a distribution company here in Houston. I won't say the name. I was standing outside of my friends office and saw the GC CD's mounted up on the wall and was commenting on my love for the group and my favorite song being "Ranch on Mars" and he was looking at everyone in the office like PLEASE don't tell her who I am, (his office was right next to a very good friend of mine) Of course My friend did tell me and I felt like a Groupie all over again once I saw him.
STILL LOVE YOU GUYS. Wish you guys would do a few "reunion" shows.
That is my GC story.
Siempre, (always)
