the galactic cowboys will always be in my top three bands of all time. ( not giving the other two or order of the three so there will be no feelings of resentment ) i have seen them play at least 10 times whether it was baltimore, pennsylvania, or virginia. enough rambling, here's the story. i saw them in 96 on the machine fish tour with king's x in baltimore. i ended up talking to monty and hanging out with them at their buses that night and he told me that they were going to be in philly the next night and i should check them out. so i took a friend with me and we made the hour plus drive to philly and when it got time to buy our tickets we found out it was a 21 and over show. that wasn't a problem for me but my friend was only 19 at the time. so i bought a ticket hoping that i would run into monty before the show and tell him the situation and why i couldn't stay. when i got in the club, the cowboys had just done their soundcheck and i spoke to monty about the situation and he told me to go outside the club and he would meet me there. i went back outside with my friend and monty came out and hung out with us for a while. then ben walked out of the bus and monty explained the situation that i paid for a ticket and wasn't going to be able to see the show. it wasn't a big deal to me that i lost money on the ticket but it seemed to really bother ben and monty cause ben pulled out his wallet and handed me the $12 that i spent on the ticket. i too have been in bands for the past 10 years and to this day i make sure to treat everyone at my shows with the same respect that i was treated with that day. i have nothing but love for the cowboys and i can't wait for the day that i am purchasing a new cd or even better watching them live once again. thank you guys for everything.
