alright ben...i hadn't thought about writing one of these letters but
you've called me
out!
i first witnessed the sonic assault of the Cowboys in septmeber of 1993. i
had heard of them from the Headbangers' Ball. i believe i caught a little of "if i
were a killer". i was half asleep so it didn't stick then. when they came out on stage Ben
had on a Primus t-shirt. right away i determined these guys were cool. what was to
follow was nothing short of life changing. i had never heard anyone that was heavy but
actually sang audible words! not to mention having up to 4 guys singing. after that
show i didn't look at music the same. i was fortunate to witness more shows as thier
career rolled on. i'm also the recipient of one said "sweat soaked Monty Colvin t-shirt"
(thanks Gordabega!) and Monty's first bass which was auction off on the website a few years
ago. having met these fine gentlemen left a lasting impression on me. they are, to this
day, one of the most unique bands i have ever heard. every album and song unique from the next.
so, in closing, i would like to thank all of them for the inspiration they have given me.
rock on and peace out....
