Man, I miss you guys!
GC CDs just got better and better and more sonic with each release. My sentimental favorite though is the self titled debut from the first time my brother and I went to see King's X (ahhh, the usual tie in) at Studio One in Newark, New Jersey... '89 or '90 I think... It was the same night KX filmed or taped (filmed I think) "Summerland." Anyway, Galactic Cowboys opened up and when I looked at Alan's interesting drum set I thought, "look at that funky piece o' shit!"
...Then the music started. Blown away. Our jaws hit the floor with complete fascination AND satisfaction! The songs kicked ass and sounded like nothing else around - refreshing to say the least. The only place we would hear you guys (and King's X) was on 89.5 WSOU Seton Hall University's "Pirate Radio." I thank that college radio station to this day for introducing me to KX's "Goldilox." From there, Galactic Cowboys and King's X, the rest is history.
Well... I checked this website in the hope that something might be happening with the band. Studio album, anything!...
I need to request Galactic Cowboys on XM RADIO. Maybe they'll give you the airplay that FM radio did not. No payola with them!
Thanks for the years of great music and shows. I hope all is well for each and every one of the Galactic Cowboy members.
