just in case anyone was wondering, (like those who emailed me ASKING) LET IT GO is complete and, as far as we know, will be released on june 20th 2000. if this information changes we will do our best to let everyone know as soon as humanly possible. sometimes this means having to deal with the time limits that are required of us by our J.O.B.S. in addition, as soon as the artwork is approved we will upload a copy for all to see!. that's all for now.

yesterday i went over to wally's and picked up a final version of LET IT GO. you may not be able to believe it, but IT'S FINISHED! wally said that all he has to do is get the copies for metal blade in the mail and we'll be done on our end.
wally has worked his behind off on this record and i thank him for his sacrifice. i'm sure he'll be happy to get the masters in the mail and out of his hands. he deserves a break!
now, all that's left for y'all is to wait until june...tick tick tick...

THE MIX IS OVER!!! whew!
tonight the mastering process will begin and it should only take a few days. then, the masters will be in the hands of our friends at metal blade records. some of you already know that the release has been set for june. the actual day will be set once they have the tapes in their hot little hands. the only thing i can tell you for sure is, it will be a tuesday.
i would like to thank wally and alan for their hard work and dedication to this project over the last several months. i have no doubt that the fans will be thankful that y'all stayed locked in that little room for so long once they've heard the final product!

the day has finally arrived! the mix has begun and there's
no time like the present to let everyone know that alan doss
is mixing the new record. but, he didn't play drums so don't
even ask!
as usual, the first day of mixing is mostly a matter of figuring
out where we stand. right now we have a general idea of how things
sound and tomorrow the tweaking will begin.

i was inspired to write a short report today. last night wally
called me up to the studio to hear what he'd done during the
day. i was pleased, to say the least. i know that music listening
is extremely subjective, but what "I" heard on one
particular song (ANOTHER HILL) was a cross between thin lizzy
and brian may. i made him rewind the tape and play it several
times because it was so cool. what can i say? wally rawks! anyway,
i just thought i'd whet your appetites!

the toughest part of doing these updates is coming up with
different ways to describe just how close we are to finishing
the record without getting everyone so excited that they bombard
the message board with questions and comments. trust me, i know
that day will come. i just want to keep everyone in the perfect
balance between suspense and information.
wally has finished his vocals and we
are well into the process of laying down leads. we will hopefully
be mixing before the end of next week. remember, i said hopefully
not definitely.

we had the great privilege and fun to
have our old friend max dyer in the studio today. for those of
you who don't know max, he is a wonderful cellist from houston
texas. he plays with the houston ballet orchestra and is currently
doing a run with the houston grand opera.
max laid down some tracks on a few songs
and took them to a new place. i think y'all will like what he's
done!
January 12, 2000
monty came in for the last few days
and finished all his vocal parts. he flew out this morning for
KC. do you know just how close we are now??? REAL close. i have
one more backing vocal to do and my parts are finished. then
it's all up to mr. farkas. he has to do leads and finish his
vocals before mixing can begin. there might be a few tastey little
things thrown in as well. when we are completely done i'll see
what i can do about leaking something to the fans.
btw, the tentative title is LET IT GO.
January 4, 2000
wally is feeling a little under the
weather today. we will hopefully resume our rigorous schedule
of recording madness once he is back to full taco strength. we
are really on the home-stretch now. however, it looks like we
will be turning in the album a bit late. we'll let you know if
that postpones the release.
i trust that everyone had a beautiful
christmas and an uneventful y2k new year.
June 6, 1998
All is progressing nicely. The upcoming
album is tentatively titled "At The End of the Day."
june 26, 1998
recording is complete! alan is busily
mixing like there's no tomorrow, taking only infrequent breaks
to rest his ears and count the bricks. why don't y'all stop by
and say howdy sometime?
july 15, 1998
my, my, my, has it been six months already?
how the time has flown by.....the album is finally finished!
it is mixed, mastered and in the hands of the record company.
look for a september 22nd release for " at the end of the
day".
